Key Hazards
- Falls from elevated platforms
- Tip-over incidents
- Contact with overhead hazards
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Aerial lift safety is critical when performing elevated work. Improper setup or operation increases fall and tip-over risks.
Lifts must be inspected before use to confirm controls, guardrails, and safety devices are functioning properly. The lift should be set up on stable ground.
Workers must remain inside guardrails and use fall protection if required. Overreaching or climbing on rails greatly increases fall risk.
Awareness of overhead hazards such as power lines and structures is essential. Spotters may be required in congested areas.
Safety Reminders
- Inspect aerial lifts before operation.
- Maintain stable setup conditions.
- Remain inside guardrails at all times.
- Watch for overhead hazards.
Ask the Crew
- Has the lift been inspected before use?
- Are overhead hazards identified and controlled?
