Fall arrest harness safety is essential when working at heights where guardrails are not present. Harness systems only protect workers when used and inspected correctly.
Harnesses, lanyards, and connectors must be inspected before each use. Frayed webbing, damaged hardware, or missing labels indicate equipment should be removed from service.
Anchorage points must be rated appropriately. Improper anchorage can fail during a fall, increasing injury severity.
Workers should ensure proper fit and connection before starting work. Taking time to check equipment prevents serious falls.
