Portable ladder inspection safety is critical because ladder failures often result in serious injuries. Many incidents occur when damaged ladders are used without inspection.
Before use, ladders should be inspected for cracked rails, loose rungs, damaged feet, and functioning locks. Any ladder showing damage must be removed from service.
Ladders should be clean and free of oil, mud, or debris. Even a small amount of contamination can cause slips during climbing.
Inspection takes only a few moments and prevents falls that can result in long-term injuries.
