2–3 Minute Talk Script

Preventing distracted walking is important for workers in warehouses, construction sites, industrial facilities, and office environments. Looking at a phone or paperwork while walking reduces situational awareness.

Workers should stop walking when they need to read, write, or check devices. Even brief distractions can lead to collisions or falls.

Different environments have different risks. Warehouses involve forklift traffic, construction sites have uneven ground, and offices contain stairs and tight hallways.

Encouraging workers to stay alert and keep eyes forward helps prevent injuries caused by distraction.

Safety Reminders

  • Do not walk while using devices.
  • Keep your eyes forward and stay alert.
  • Report clutter or trip hazards.
  • Use designated walk paths.

Ask the Crew

  • Are there areas today where distracted walking is especially risky?
  • Do we need to reroute foot traffic around equipment?
