- Strains from lifting heavy pallets
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Safe handling of pallets is important for warehouse staff, forklift operators, and maintenance crews. Pallets are heavy and may contain nails, broken boards, or sharp plastic edges.
Workers should inspect pallets before lifting and avoid stacking them too high. Damaged pallets should be removed from service.
Different pallets pose different hazards. Wood pallets can splinter, while plastic pallets can crack under heavy loads.
Communication helps workers coordinate movement and avoid pinch points when stacking or separating pallets.
Safety Reminders
- Inspect pallets for damage.
- Avoid overstacking.
- Use proper lifting technique.
- Remove broken pallets from circulation.
Ask the Crew
- Do any pallets need to be replaced?
- Are stacks stable and safe for use?
