Key Hazards
- Rollovers on uneven terrain
- Struck-by hazards when towing equipment
- Run-over hazards when mounting or dismounting
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Safe tractor operations are essential for grounds crews, agriculture workers, and utility teams. Tractors can roll over easily on uneven terrain or steep slopes.
Workers should always use rollover protection systems (ROPS) and wear seat belts when available. Slow speeds reduce the chance of tipping.
Different tasks require different attachments—mowers, trailers, augers, or loaders. Each changes tractor stability and turning characteristics.
Workers should mount and dismount slowly, avoid carrying passengers, and remain aware of people or equipment behind the tractor.
Safety Reminders
- Use ROPS and seat belts whenever available.
- Operate at safe speeds.
- Be aware of changing terrain.
- Avoid carrying passengers.
Ask the Crew
- Does today’s terrain pose rollover risks?
- Are attachments secured properly?
