Safe use of foam cutters is important for packaging crews, prop builders, and insulation installers. Heated-wire cutters create clean edges but introduce burn and smoke risks.
Workers should keep hands clear of the heated wire and allow the tool to warm up fully before use.
Different foam densities cut differently, and forcing the cutter can produce excess smoke or uneven edges.
Proper ventilation prevents inhalation of fumes generated during melting.
