Key Hazards
- Doors closing on workers
- Reduced visibility around corners
- Unexpected movement during activation
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Safe use of remote door openers is needed in warehouses, garages, and secure access facilities. Remote activation creates movement that may not be seen by all workers nearby.
Workers should check both sides of a door before triggering it.
Different door types—roll-up, swing, or vertical lift—move at different speeds and require different clearances.
Standing back from the door path prevents impact injuries.
Safety Reminders
- Look both ways before opening.
- Stand clear as doors move.
- Ensure the area is visible and clear.
- Report slow or malfunctioning doors.
Ask the Crew
- Is the door path fully clear before activation?
- Do any doors have blind corners nearby?
