- Impact hazards from forklifts
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Warehouse racking awareness is crucial in distribution centers, retail inventory rooms, and industrial storage facilities. Racks may appear structurally sound but can be weakened by impacts or improper loading.
Workers should report bent beams, missing safety pins, leaning uprights, or loose anchors. Overloading racks creates additional stress and can lead to collapse.
Different warehouses have different rack systems—selective pallet racking, push-back racking, or cantilever systems—each requiring proper load placement and spacing.
Good communication helps prevent equipment from striking racks and ensures weight limits are respected.
Safety Reminders
- Report damaged racking immediately.
- Check for missing or loose pins.
- Avoid overloading racks.
- Keep forklift paths clear.
Ask the Crew
- Are any racks visibly damaged?
- Do we need to adjust load placement today?
