- Falls from standing passengers
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Safe operation of golf carts and UTVs is important for grounds crews, utility workers, and campus maintenance teams. These small vehicles can still cause serious injury if operated unsafely.
Workers should drive at safe speeds, slow down on turns, and avoid carrying unseated passengers. Steering too fast or turning on slopes increases rollover risks.
Different facilities use carts and UTVs differently. Campuses involve pedestrian traffic, parks involve uneven ground, and industrial sites may have vehicle congestion.
Workers should perform quick inspections before use and communicate when approaching corners or blind spots.
Safety Reminders
- Slow down on turns and slopes.
- Do not allow standing passengers.
- Use designated travel paths.
- Inspect brakes and tires before use.
Ask the Crew
- Do we have congested areas today?
- Are slopes or uneven surfaces present on our route?
