Key Hazards
- Tip-over from uneven weight
- Strains when pushing overloaded carts
- Pinch points at wheels and handles
2–3 Minute Talk Script
Safe use of rolling carts is important for warehouse workers, office staff, and maintenance personnel. Rolling carts can reduce lifting strain but must be loaded correctly.
Workers should place heavier items on the bottom shelf and ensure loads do not hang over the edges. Uneven or top-heavy loads increase the risk of tipping.
Different carts handle differently. Metal carts may roll quickly, while plastic carts may flex under heavy weight.
Workers should push rather than pull carts and maintain sightlines to avoid collisions.
Safety Reminders
- Place heavier items low.
- Push carts instead of pulling.
- Avoid overloading.
- Keep hands clear of pinch points.
Ask the Crew
- Do today's loads require multiple carts?
- Is the load stable and balanced?
